Censorship is the suppression of speech or deletion of communication material which may be considered objectionable, sensitive as determined by censor the censorship is different types for example moral censorship, military censorship, political censorship, religious censorship, corporate censorship.
The example of censorship, In Australians under 18 years old could soon be barred from purchasing cd by artists such as Eminem. It was happened in 13 November 2002. these artists use strong language of themes such as violence, drug use, murder and suicide. The Australian record industry association and Australian music retailers association classified of cd after talks with government. The Australian record industry association made level 3 standard in this level cd are restricted from sale to under 18s. this has not been challenged for ARIA. In my opinion this decision batter for younger.
The Pakistani cornelian rock group falak has been blacklisted on MTV Pakistan. This was happened in 21 February 2007. they has been blacklisted on MTV Pakistan because of in the song video “Yadan 2” they show images related to the 9/11 attack on the world trade center in new york. Some of Pakistan’s biggest acts in front of thousand in feb 2007 but organizers abruptly cancelled the event after MTV decided. After this event in Pakistan rock group falak has been banned to show their video on MTV. It’s not challenging for MTV. The video show flashbacks to flying lesson, farewell video and letters open maps, airport security screening and takeoff. In my opinion this video banned only in Pakistan but it should Bann allover the world.
The another example of censorship is the American tv- network NBC and CW television network has refused to air ads for new documentary “ Shut up & sing” by top selling American country band Dixie chicks they refused on 30 October 2006. According NBC they are disparaging to president bush. The ad features footage of lead singer Natalie Maines declaring during a London concert. Also many radio stations banned Dixie music that is not challenged for NBC and CW television Network to banned Dixie chick’s music CW Television doesn’t have appropriate programming in which to schedule this spot. My opinion, think it is a normal thing people of president bush so it doesn’t matter if they show something about bush in music video people are not pay attention about it music is just for relax and fun.
At last I would like to tell you censorship sometime is good for society but sometime it effect on the society. So they have both kind effect.
